    RUI problem on C3480

    I have a customer whose C3480 copier is working fine, all features work etc.........however the IT company they use cannot get into the Remote User Interface. I am not very knowlegable with the RUI, but they say they can see the copier but can't get into it to change anything, they say the Web server will not respond with even the basic website header information? We have verified that the RUI is turned on under Additional Functions and also the HTTP is enabled under Meap Settings but after that I don't know what else to look for. Any help is much appreciated.

    can we have a screenshot once you have access the ip address of the printer in a browser?

    if you encounter an error, you can just update the RUI of that machine by using SST and updated firmware.

      Ask them to try viewing it using Chrome browser, not IE

        Title : RUI Content Not Found Error

        Error :
        When trying to connect to the RUI using a web browser, the browser displays the message "RUI Content Not Found".

        Workaround :
        The correct version of RUI firmware must be flashed onto the copier. A specific version of the RUI firmware is required for each individual version of system software (MN-CONT Firmware) for each specific copier model. The correct version of the RUI firmware to be used with your current version of MN-CONT software can be found on that system software version's System Software CD.
        To correct this problem:
        1. Flash the copier with the correct version of RUI firmware.
        2. Be sure to enable HTTP and RUI on the copier.
        3. Be sure to enable "Dedicated Port" on the copier.

        NOTE: For MEAP Enabled Devices, please make sure that the proper MEAP version in Service Mode/Copier/Display/Version is also installed. If everything fails, perform a Clear MMI. Also note that on MEAP enabled devices, USE HTTP under TCP/IP Settings and USE HTTP under MEAP Settings must be ON.

          clear the cache of your web browser

          To check or change the IP Address Range settings select Additional Functions > System Settings > Network Settings > TCP/IP settings > IPv4 > IP Address Range settings and set all options to Off.
          In this screen there are 4 sub menus, [Reject IPv4 Address], [Permit IPv4 Address], [Reject IPv4 Address] & [Permit IPv4 Address]. Go into each one of these sub menus and set them to Off.
          Next power cycle the copier and test.

          To print out all of the Service Mode settings and firmware versions on the copier:
          1. Enter Service Mode by pressing Additional Functions, 2 and 8, then Additional Functions.
          2. Select Copier.
          3. Press Functions.
          4. Press MISC-P.
          5. Select P-PRINT and press OK.
          6. A Copy Service Report will print out containing the Service Mode settings and firmware versions for the copier.
