    IR C5185 E000007-0211 Fixing Assy

Apologies for an end user question. But with the E000007-0211 error on this 5185, is there anything short of an expensive fixing assembly that might get this unit going for a while? I don't really want to have to replace it if I don't have to so I'm just looking for a little confirmation before shelling out the bucks.

I only have one of those left but that is the easiest way to make sure the code does not come back. Lots of people have tried as they are very expensive!

You may find a cheap fixing unit on eBay, replacing this unit is the only real way to clear this error.

Personally I would not bother spending this sort of money on an old machine like this especially if your drums have not been replaced for a while.

I agree, that machine is not worth spending a penny at this point. The new machines have a very low cost per copy and more features and uptime.

            Thanks guys.

Any opinions on replacing this with a newer used C5250?. We got 4-5 years out of the used C5185, pretty good run for the used cost. We're not a high print production office.

Yes the IRAC 5250 is a good box, a few known faults but no big issues, so yes that would be a good replacement.

I'll look at the 5250 then. I was looking to see which consumables it uses. Looks like GPR-30'S. What is the significance of the last two letters? For instance, cyan 2797B003AA, I also find ending in AB, AC. Does it mean anything?

GP-30 is for the US market, here in the UK we use the C-EXV 28/29
The AA/AB has no real significance
