    IRADVC5051 One Path DADF double feeds

    Has anyone experienced this problem? Canon IRADVC5051 DADF-W1 one path double feeds originals.

    I replaced the separation roller with the new part number FB5-6586 and it seemed to help but problem

    has returned. I am going to change the torque limiter when I go there because it is mentioned on another

    forum post. Is there anything else anyone has ran into on this problem?

    We have quite a few of these machines out and have never had a complaint of any double feeding.

      Change pick up roller also.

          When I keep feeding documents , they build up charges on paper, especially crappy stock and more if paper is that recylced garbage.
          Had customers that keept documents stored on a rug\ or floor near heat vents\ or AC vents.

          No need to guess how many service calls this generated.

          Just to prove my point to them, I opened a fresh ream of paper, stacked in DF 30 sheets, ran over and over a few times with no double feeding.

              There is a modified separation roller for the irac 5051 single pass DF FB2-7777-020

                  Check if the ADF Lid closes correct, I had a MF9220 where the tab 'just fell off' according the customer. The lid didn't put enough pressure on the rollers, so it would try to eat the whole stack of paper in the ADF at once...

                      Put the 7777 sep roller back in and install the improved torque limiter. This bulletin shows some other issues too

                          The machine has the DADF-W1 and Color Image Reader M1. Those don't show up on that tech pub.

                          Not sure if the update parts listed are for this document feed. Hadn't heard any complaints for 6 months

                          but now it's doing it again. For now I am going to change the torque limiter and rollers. Are there any

                          pubs for this DADF?

                              Multi-feeding Originals on DADF-W1
                              Problem :

                              Originals were doublefeeding/multifeeding into the DADF-W1.
                              Tech replaced separation and feed rollers, and adjusted separation pressure,
                              with no improvement in symptoms. Originals were within machine specifications.



                              Solution :

                              A defective torque limiter, FC7-2494-000 was the problem.
                              **As of the date of this article, FC7-2494-000 is a valid part number.


                              In the imageRUNNER ADVANCE C5051/5045/5035/5030 Revision 1 Parts Catalog, November 11, 2010, a new number was
                              introduced for the torque limiter.
                              It is FC8-5907-000.

                              As of the date of this article, both part numbers are valid and parts are available.

                                  I replaced the torque limiter with the part number FC7-2494. The roller I used was the FB5-6586. I didn't adjust the

                                  spring pressure. I ordered the other torque limiter FC8-5907 that was mentioned and the FB2-7777-020 just to be

                                  safe. I did run over 250 printed pages through the DF and didn't get any double feeds. Kind of a damned if you do, damned if

                                  don't at this point. Thanks for all the replies.

                                  I did change the feed and pickup rollers that were mentioned also.

                                  That FB5-6586 roller came out when the IR5050 machines were made as

                                  a replacement for the FB2-7777. Maybe there is a reason they didn't use

                                  those on these DF's. Not sure.
