    3080 laser alignment

We set up a new irC3380i and had a laser alignment issue with it right out of the box, in both the X and Y directions. We tried switching out the ITB assy, Laser assy, Patch sensor and DC contoller #2 with no change in the copy. We also installed the parts we switched out in another machine to see if they were good and they were. We reinstalled all of the original parts back in the machine and switched out the entire drum/ ITB assy and were able to get the laser to align. The machine was generating an alarm code of 340002 which is a fault 8 times or more with laser alignment process. When we switched back the drum/ ITB assy the laser stayed aligned and we just thought we had a flaky connection problem since all the original parts were back in the machine and it was working. Because we had done a DC Cont clear early in the trouble shooting process and the drums had already been initiated we had to re INIT them having lost our P-Print during all of the troubleshooting. There is a service mode under level 2 in Function Install to do this. Un fortunatly the INIT came back as NG. After trying the drums in other machines and having no problems INITing them , we felt we still had a problem with the machine since it uses the same sensors to align the laser as to INIT the drums. We switched back the entire Drum/ITB assy and switched out the DC controller 1 as this controller is the one involved it the INIT process with no change in the machines ability to work properly. Here we are stuck as we have replaced everything involved in the process and if you look at the density settings when the INIT process is over it does give a normal density target for the developer to use. It just seems like the machine can read the patch but not at the reading it is expecting. We get no error or alarm codes anymore and since the machine only checks patch density once every 80 copies to make sure the toner is at the right level we sent the machine out to see how it performs in the field. I am just curious if anyone else has had any issues like this or has any other ideas to try? Today i setup another machine with the same alignment issue. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED

Having colour alignment issues. Black is fine. Colour won't align. Done toner stir and image grad. Two machines, out of the box. My senior engineer says that something is sticking and I'm to run up to the top of the warehouse with the copier. So I do a circuit of the warehouse with the copier rumbling away over the concrete floor. Don't know how. But it now puts out perfect copies.
