ir 5000d

hi to all i have a problem on this machine ir 5000d first the hard disc broke then i replace it with ir5000dn hdd but the machine just boot up only in the middle then it never continue. no error code apear.please help me.

The reason it won't work is because the hdd for the 5000dn wont work in the 5000d because canon wants you to have to buy the print kit for the 5000d but the 5000d hdd will work in the 5000dn machine

I believe the same concepts apply as i stated above, canon wants you to but the $1500 print kit to change it to a networked machine

Its not the hard drive its the software that your loading onto it. You have to load 5000d software onto the hard drive not 5000dn - dn is the postscript version, format the drive and put 5000d system onto it and you should be ok. If you put anything else on it clashes with the bootrom

thanks paul and oze. im realy wondring what printer kit i going to put on 5000d to run it as network machine.all i know is to flash the bootrom and a system with ir 5000 version that has n.
