Re: LBP 7750 cdn, code E078-0001
Oh, I just realised, you are saying its connected directly to the computer... USB? means its may not be connected to your network in any way... so then you can't really connect to it via network...
I'd have to check what you can do in that case... Can you connect it to a network? That would be easiest...
Just a note, I also booted/rebooted this printer many many times, and was able to print once in a while even with the error... but it was rare...Comment

Re: LBP 7750 cdn, code E078-0001
In the printer menu...
set the printert to "offline"
press "settings"
select "user maintenance"
select "update firmware"
select "usb" or " standard network"
Hope that helps...

Re: LBP 7750 cdn, code E078-0001
Thank you. The trick here is to set the printer to "offline" otherwise the menu does not populate.Comment

* The device's old version of Remote UI does not seem to offer an upgrade option. (Or does it?)
* I do not seem to find a firmware file on any of the CANON support pages
* I am able to put the machine in "UPDATEMODE READY" status in "standard network" as described above. Does it then download anything automatically or are further actions required?
Any help is appreciated.
Thx, Henry.Comment

Sorry for opening up this topic again. I have the exact same error code (seemingly appeared out of nowhere) on our 7750cdn. Obviously, I would hope to also fix the issue with a firmware update. Our machine is currently running R5.05. However, I haven't found a way to update.

I'm only seeing your post now - hope you've resolved the issue by now, but if not, to answer your questions:
- yes, you need to upgrade the firmware - I have version R7.10 on mine
- yes, Canon is not helpful in locating the firmware update file, however airosoftsnake was kind enough to share it - I no longer have it handy unfortunately
- yes, all you do is run the upgrade when the machine is set to be updated and then magically the error is gone.
Hope this helps, best of luck!

Still have the file, just chat me, and will get it to you. Sorry for my late responses, I'm not always seeing the private messages here... they go to spam sometimes.Comment
