    Canon IR C1030i

Canon IR C1030i in the field that is slow to copy or print, intermittently when I am there . I am told when Copy or Print job is sent then the machine starts a cycle of clunks like toner cartridges are engaging and reengaging which will go on for minutes. No messages are displayed when it goes into the clunk cycle that I know of. It most likely says "waiting".

Yesterday I walked in 5 minutes after it happened to the customer and could not get it to react the same way again. This started a week after the Black toner was changed.

Any thoughts on this would be very helpful. Thx

Any errors or alarms? Sounds like the machine is trying to do auto gradation or image reg adjustments, see if there are any alarm codes for not completing auto grad. How is the print q when it does spit out a print, all colors look solid? Does the fuser look good?

The quality has not changed and is good but may not have the best of fill. I was wondering if the machine was jumping into calibration that was my thought as well.

Thank you for the reply. Also no errors that I have seen. I will go back tomorrow and look in service mode for any errors. Any other thoughts?
