    Yellow Drum Unit Problem

I am working on IR Advance C5051 I receive a streak at the edge of the paper. I receive a yellow streak at the edge of the paper. The attachment explains it. If all else fail, i intend replacing the yellow drum unit. But until then, I wish I could get a suggestion on the exact trouble with the unit. this streak also appears on the ITB and the transfer roller.
    I will appreciate any suggestion

Dirty laser slit glass. Clean with the glass cleaning rod.

Dirty laser leaves a void area, not a streak of the color in question. Change the drum.

laser slit will not cause a streak... but rather a void instead.. the problem is in the PCU/Drum unit

Color drums are rated about 85K on this series. Much lower if you're using a generic toner. If you're above 80K on the color count, I'd definitely check the drum unit. Since the color drums are interchangeable, swap it with the Cyan drum and see if the yellow streaks follow the drum. If the streaks are still yellow, you likely have a bad developer unit... if the streaks turn blue, it's the drum.

Swap the yellow drum with say the cyan if you then get a cyan line you know its the drum.
