This is a fuser error, and this kind of a repair should be done by a professional. The thermal protection is there to prevent fire. You should contact your local Canon technician.

I know you're not a technician, because a technician would have looked this code up in the manual first. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

thank you for the reply, but why are you trying to guess what I am or am not? There is a reason why i asked this question on here like maybe I don't have a manual.

        AND..Blackat is 100% correct.
If you're a tech who's never seen a Canon box then just say so...no drama.
His comment was more or less stating that any tech worth their salt knows that E0001 is the universal code for an overheat issue.
Anyways...whether you're a tech or not...the error code DOES point to an overheat issue.
It can be caused by a broken fuser gear...a worn UFR...a hot spot on the heating lamp.. an issue with a thermoswitch or thermistor.....dozens of reasons and hence Blackcat's suggestion(which i second) that you have a Canon tech attend to it.
