The hard drive on Advance series 2 machines have a factory password, which makes it impossible to do anything with them. They do not even show up as a drive outside of the copier
There is a possible recovery process that Canon has bulletinized for the e602. Whats funny is I come from the Toshiba side, and their hdds are POS, and these are the same type. Let me know if you need the bulletin, but I think the damage is done and the post suggesting you do firmware is IMO the best option then replacing the hdd.
