    Canon IR C3100 Error E020-02A9

Canon IR C3100 has intermittent error E020-02A9

Error occurs on large runs. ATR sensor clean and shutter working. Carousel is clean and developer units visually appear to be okay. Machine copy count 164k.
Any recommendation would be sincerely appreciated.

    Thanks,

E-020, Thats a can of worms you got there. It could be the drum, dev units, cl7(toner clutch), dc controller, atr sensor. check the drum life in copier>display>misc>drum life if it is at or over 80% I would recommend replacing it. I believe the 02A9 represents the magenta toner. You may have a problemm with that. is there noise, grinding, whining etc associated with this?
Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Life is all about how you see it.

      Title : E020 - XXA2 Error Code Problem :
Experienced an E020, sub code XXA2, which means the signal value for ATR control is 960 or higher. Replacing the developing assembly with one from a known working machine did not resolve the issue.

      Solution :
Replaced the developing assembly using a brand new unit from parts stock. Switching the developing assembly from one machine to another did not work. The known working machine is also starting to exhibit E020 - XXA2 when the unit was put back in the machine. In this case using a new developing assembly resolved the problem.

And it's the Magenta dev that you need to change.
Change the dev AND the toner supply clutch at the same time.
