    Canon C7270 how to upgrade firmware

    Hello, I have a c7270 with a E000602-0101 error which says either format or replace the HDD and then install the firmware. I went to Canon and they say there is not firmware available for this model.
    Does this mean I do not have to worry about any firmware installation?
    In other words I can reformat the HDD and if that does not resove the eroor i can replace the HDD and then I will be done?
    Lastly, can anyone give me the HDD Format procedure?

      You are getting the E602 error because the hdd has failed & the machine cant boot up.

      If you format the HDD you will need to reload the firmware back onto the HDD.

      You could try simply reflashing the firmware the HDD might be OK if you're lucky.

                  Canon is lying to you or it is a matter of semantics.
                  Ask them about system software instead.
                  Unless you are a dealer, you will not get any from them , you have to depend on someone here to help you

                      Yes, thanks, I am pretty impresed with Rockville as well.

                      Update: By luck my colleague tapped on the HD and then we reformatted it and voila it started working again.
                      We were going to use a laptop and had connected it with the Canon SST software but we could not find the machines System Disk so we were stuck.
                      Question: do they hide that somewhere in the machine?
                      The problem may come back again of course.
