    IPF8300 keeps replenishing with ink for 1 hour

    Hi all,
    my IPF8300 for some reason if I power on in normal mode keeps replenishing with ink for loong time and the only way to stop it is to unplug power source.
    In service mode I have no errors and everything is fine.
    Any idea what it could be?

      Clogged printhead or purge unit.

          Here is a nozzle check from service mode. 1 block is missing from R head, but a month ago when heads was ok and perfect nozzle check I had the same problem.

          About purge unit, what could go wrong with it?

              replace the print head. it will just throw all your ink. are you using original ink?

                  Ink Owl branded ink cartridges have caused this for me. The explanation I got was air leaking into the cartridges. =^..^=
                  If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
                  1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
                  2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
                  3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
                  4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
                  5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

                      I'm not using original ink, and after many investigations I've decided it's the mainboard because 2f42 error.

                          Non Canon ink? Yup...this is what happens. I see it all the time. Save money on ink and ruin your printer/heads. Have cap absorbers been replaced? They gum up and the purge unit can't create negative pressure to pull the ink to the printhead..2F42 is not necessarily main controller. These machines need to have newest firmware in them. Old firmware plus old head gives a shorted printhead that fries the controller. If your route is main con, I would upgrade firmware, replace cap absorbers and install a new head if over a year old before I install that main con. I've seen old heads fry newly installed main cons...good luck

                              i suggest if you used compatible ink use the printer daily. in my experience those ipf who print a lot get a longer printhead life than those who barely use.

                                  Problem is solved now after I've sent the mainboard to a specialised centre to fix it.
