I was wondering does anyone know how to Stop the "Clean Slit Glass" Message on a Canon Imagerunner 4225i I cleaned the slit glass and the slit glass on the exposure lamps. Some how the message returns after cleaning all optics. How can shut off this message from displaying on this copier?

You might need to go into Service Mode as well, and reduce the "Dust Level Detect" settings. Can't remember off the top of my head where it is, but I've had a few out there that would scream for cleaning the slit glass...even with the scan cleaning area message turned off, until I reduced the setting in Service.Comment

In the service mode, set the value from 200 to 50.After that glass must be very dirty to see the warning.Practice makes perfect

Be carefull with setting it to low, you might get lines in the scan w/o the msg ever displayed. Then they will call us to fix it and we wil have to drive off and clean the glass for them...JohanComment

Very few users clean the glass. When I come to repair the machine, I always have to clean the ink from the scanner glass.Practice makes perfect

Re: I am getting "Clean Slit Glass" Error On a Canon Imagerunner 4225i
OK, I preformed the System Registration, Preferences, Then Disply Message and I requested to have the clean slit Glass Message To "Off" However, I am now getting this message: :Original scanning area (thin glass strip) is dirty" I was wondering how do I change the values in the Service Mode. I understand to get into the Service Mode is * 2,8 Do I then select copier? and what do I do after that? Is the thin Glass Strips are they the strips of glass on the Exposure Carriage Assembly?Comment

Yes,I did Clean the Glass and The Scan Slit Glass, I took the platen glass and the Slit glass off and cleaned the glass, scanning and the two glasses on the Exposure Carriage Unit. I done all of this and And now I am getting "Clean the Thin Glass Is Dirty" I am not an End-User I am a Technician whom can't understand why I am getting these messages after I clean the glass, scanning glass and two scan glass on the exposure system. Does anyone know the Service Mode in order to change the Dust settings? I know the code is *2,8 then do I select Copier? Then what area do i then going into?Comment

Re: I am getting "Clean Slit Glass" Error On a Canon Imagerunner 4225i
Are you getting lines on copy and scans? If so, you'll have to solve the issue. Maybe the glass is damaged or scrached ?
Dirt on the scanner lid or roller underneatb may cause the msg also...
Can't recall the setting to change the threshold, not by hart...JohanComment
