    Mistery switch on ir3300

Recently I bought IR3300 refurbish without user manual.
And after struggling on the net, at last I found the manual. I already read the manual, but there is one thing that make me curious.

the location at right side, beside on-off swith. I attach the picture.
Does anyone can tell what it for?

    thx

That may be the humidity/drum heater on/off switch for when main power is off.
And Star Trek was just a tv show...yeah right!

        From the Service Manual:
        switch.jpg

Well, if the picture doesn't show up, its the cassette heater switch.

          thanks for the info, Paul.
Now I know what it is.

My next question, what's the function and when we should turn this on?

          thx

          cheers

The cassette heater is designed for high humidity areas to help keep the paper dry in the tray. If you are having humidity problems with the paper (jamming, blotchy areas in the image), turning on the cassette heater may help.

Not all machines come standard with the cassette heaters. By all appearances the iR3300 should have the drum heater. To check, remove the bottom tray and on the bottom of the frame look for a rectangular aluminum...... rectangle (~3" x ~8"). =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
            1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
            2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
            3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
            4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
            5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
