If the copier is connected to a network and powered up, just go into Service Mode and you'll see the option to "Update Firmware" right on the main screen. Once you press that, just select the most recent version from the list and you can update it from there.

Error 602 is a hard drive error. You're going to need to download Service Support Tool and the iR Adv4225 firmware from the Canon eSupport website. Install Support Tool on a laptop computer, register the 4225 firmware in SST, then connect the laptop with a crossover cable to the copier and use THAT to install your firmware.
