For a canon it's called system software you will also need the service support tool to load onto hdd {note it must be a Hdd designed for this machine cant use any hdd} also the problem you have got is the machine is very very VERY old and I don't think the system software is still available on Canon sims but I will check. But you may be able to get one from ebay of a old ir3300/2800/2200 with will have software preloaded.

Do you have an E602 error?

Try booting up in repair mode.

Shutdown & power back on keep holding down keys 1&9 leave it rebuilding can take over an hour.

Turn off when "Download Standby" is shown.

Yes you still can get system software but you have to be a credited Canon engineer. But you could try the second reply on this thread he may be able to help good luck
