    Help request with document scanner on L280 fax please

    Hello

    The beast in question senses a document loaded then runs the feed rollers in the reverse direction. Receive end of things all works fine. Firstly this is not a machine i'd seen before, so I just looked for anything obvious like broken flags. Next I did remove the outer part of the ADF off it's hinge and it ran in the correct direction and of course printed a blackish scan by manually running a sheet along. Unfortunatly this customer wanted it down for under half an hour and I never got to resolve this further. Can anyone volunteer a likely causes i can prove next time I'm there?

      EASY! Its the spring on the feed roller. The spring acts as a clutch and has a habit of breaking. Replace the spring part no. HS5-2077-000 job done.

          Thought I had replied a with a thanks on this one oops
          Unfortunatly the above spring was not the cause and all feed rollers continue to run the wrong way once a document is loaded. I'm now hoping it's due to a damaged ribbon cable I found on further checks. Any other suggestions appreciated?
