      Unless you have the old canon USB to parallel cable, you are going to have a hard time installing this firmware.

          That was an option on the 5000 series, and even then it was a 50/50 shot of it working properly. Then you had to know if the boot rom was a N, C or an I version before loading as well. The older Canon devices are not as straightforward as today's models when loading firmware.

              No they did not, and you are horribly wrong. The base model machine had to have the PDL KIT-A2 installed and it came with N boot rom and the NIC port.
              It wasn't until the 'I' version was released that the NIC card was standard, and then when the 5020/6020 was released did Canon start including the NIC card.

                I only saw these with a LAN card maybe this was the only one marketed in The UK.
