Canon MF6550 - display and toner problems

Machine's display is off...when starting up you can see all of the pixels lighting up, but when the image comes up it is all pushed to the left about a inch or more...
Machine keeps saying to Prepare Toner Cartridge, or put cartridge in. It is New Canon cartridges being used....no matter which one I put in it displays this. And then all of a sudden it will take one of the cartridges and start working for a while.
What to look for??? Have already pulled the display and it looks OK, inspected the contacts around the toner cartridge and everything looks OK..Help

This entire series is notoriuos for having the false toner messages, the only fix that I have found to consistently work is to use Canon FX-11 cartridges and just grind off the one post that gets in the way. The FX-11's are also a lot cheaper (wholesale anyway) than using Canon 106's or HP cartridges

CRG 706 MUST USE FOR THIS MACHINE.

if u installed a new toner, pls remove and install again. or off and on your machine.

CRG 706 is toner cartridge for Canon MF65xx series machines. (For Turkish)

Canon PC Cartridge 106 0264B001 (For Canada & USA )

P.S. : dont use any other toner cartridges. may be as same but, ur machine can show many errors at time...

The compatibles have come along pretty well for this model. We had a load of problems to begin with but it seems to have been taken care of buying using Canon cartridges or good quality refills (I know, practically an oximoron)

well, and u can refill this cartridge with C-EXV7 TONER ( IR-12xx series toner)

C-EXV7 toner is same as CRG706 (Cartridge106)

this way is cheaper than all others.
