    CANON Image runner 8105 advance hdd hard drive

    Hi

    i need your help

    I buy 2 x image runner 8105 advance without hard drives

    I have bought the firmware and successfully put via the service tool on a USB.

    I install 12 hdds with + 1 given to me by canon itself (Toshiba MK1676GSX)

    Iboot using sequence and get option 4 to format.

    But not successful it says.

    Any chance to know how i can proceed as i am Stuck !

      what type of hdd are you installing??? they have to be a certain size, and speed from what i recall.

          wow i thought they used the 160gb one of toshiba. or bigger. but not larger than 320gb. so try a larger size but no bigger than 320gb. and keep it under 7200rpm, use only the 5400rpm ones.

              its possible wont hurt to try another one, once you made one, always good to make a backup and put inside the machine with a note saying its a backup drive. that way dont have to find all the files again.

                This is the part number you need, googlr this & buy an identical HDD this will work.

                Canon have written into the firmware a list of around 10-15 models of drives that it will accept, any not on this list will give the issue you are getting.

                FK2-8418-000

                    OK so it seems they will accept 80GB - 250 GB but no mention of make & model.
