    ir 3030 Z folds

I have an Ir 3030 that is jamming and z folding, The lead edge of sheet is always at fuser nip and it seems the drum is turning, as there is a distinct black line on sheet from the drum turning and the paper not moving. This happens in simplex mode and through all cassettes.

sounds like you need to rebuild the fuser for starters.

Jam code should point you to failed sensor in documentation.

I am not sure but wouldn't the fuser throw a code if the pressure roller stopped?

It seems to me the drum is turning alright, but the fixing film is not moving freely around the heating unit. Remove the fixing unit and try a manual turn on a controlling gear to see if the film moves. Alternately, you can carefully place a paper at the entrance of the removed unit and try a rotation. If does not move the paper through toward exit, then that is the culprit. A sticky grease is causing the problem.

Like I said. Won't the fixing unit throw a code if the sleeve stops turning?

It mostly don't. There is a marker signal (white rectangular area) at the end of the sleeve. If within six seconds of turning on the power, the sensor does not detect it, that is when it throws the E007 error. But I think if it is stuck and the white area is in the range of the sensor already, the error wont come.
I have also experienced that it is only when the normal rotation goes on that the detection of the sleeve or otherwise occurs.

Could be just about anything in the pickup, registration or fuser area. Any particular tray? A jam code would help

Glue or stick a miler on the opposite ends of the black plastic just after the opc with about 1mm of it touching the opc and problem sorted.
