    HP vs Canon plotters

    Hey guys,

Looking for some input from any plotter techs here that have experience with Canon and HP. We have various HP DesignJets in the field and for the most part have been happy with performance. We have an opportunity to get into some of the Canon imagePROGRAF plotters but not sure how they compare to the Designjets. For reference, a model in particular is the Canon TX-3000.

    Any input would be great!

Very similar build. The software for the HP is friendlier, and the error codes seem to point to something specific. On the Canons the service mode is not particularly intuitive, and the error codes often seem to have absolutely nothing to do with actual cause. Both HPs Designjets and Canon iPFs can get locked into a logic loop where the paper jam or error just won't clear. Just remove all paper and reboot. It will usually come to Ready and ask for paper.

    You'll manage. =^..^=

If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
