What would cause the main power switch on this machine to turn itself off after 5 min or less? Any help appreciated, thank you.

The scan lamp will do that. Replace the lamp. is there a code?
Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Life is all about how you see it.

        Hello Fierhawk,

An open circuit, not a short, in either the fuser lamp or doc lamp
circuits is usually the culprit. Happy hunting!

More times than not it has been the scan lamp. It usually will not give a code.

As weird as this sounds...it is the main power switch. I've changed many. If it shuts off right away yeah scanning lamp. If the lamps burnt and hold switch on will give scan lamp error..i think e-220) or e-800. Change the switch

I have had this same problem several times and it was the exp lamp.
