But the manual doesn't explan everything in detail. On somethings it does but a lot of error codes it tells you what it could be but not how to fix it. Is there a more indept service manual for techs only?

Paper size coming from the rip is 11" x 17" & 8 1/2" x 11" goes threw the bypass no problem.

Copier error message say this same message no matter what paper cassett or bypass i choose-There is no loaded paper with the same size as the slide guide width. Adjust the side guide width and reset the paper size, but when i move the guides nothing happends.

have you tested the paper sensors in service mode? No i Havent.

yes I have just like every other sensor in the machine there is a procedure...

I am talking about the thick paper bypass on the side that will not see any width paper 11" x 17" or 8 1/2" x 11"
I am trying to do an auto gradiation to adjust my colors but the clc 1180 will not see the 11' x 17' paper in the cassetts or the bypass.
Now i can send any size paper from the rip ( 650 colorpass ) to the bypass with out any problem but I want to calibrate the colors and i cant. I wonder if there is a way to auto gradiation from the rip instead of the copier. I can calibrate the rip to the copier witout and problem going threw the bypass.

what is the paper size on the rip and the copier?

Is there some settings in service mode that are needed to get the multifeeder on a clc 1180 to recognize that is has paper loaded?

1) I wouldn't go to work on ANY Canon product WITHOUT a service manual
2) being an end user you could really mess things up messing around with Service Mode
3) are you sure it is the correct ADF ( i guess that's what you mean by multifeeder ) for that unit and is it hooked up properly

what have you tried?

is the ADF new or a pull?

who set it up?
