Canon Image Runner C5051 Factory Default Reset

Can anyone please tell me how I can reset Canon Image Runner C5051 to Factory Default? When I press any key on the control panel it is asking for a department id and password. I tried the default ID and password '7654321' but it didn't work. My research indicating that I need to go the service mode but I can't press any keys on the control panel without knowing the department id and password. Please help.......

You don't need any password to enter the Service Mode.
Just use the combination of Addtional Function, 2 and 8 keys

Thanks. Could you please tell me which one is the additional functions key. I tried the Settings/Registration. I can't find any other button called additional functions.

You have tons of videos on youtube.

Printer is locked for a reason. Contact the administrator or it.

Settings/Registration is the key like * with a face like symbol.

So to enter service mods is Settings/Registration> 2 then 8> Settings/Registration again.

Once in service mode to clear Dept ID: COPIER>FUNCTION>CLR>PWD CLEAR

          Then restart the machine.

I don't think it's ok for service technicians to give instructions online to regular users how to delete a password.

            No hard feeling

The 2 and 8 will simply appear in the department Id box. Looks like settings/registrations key is disabled somewhere. Can you please help?
                  Settings/registrations 2 then 8 then settings/registraion again.

There is a nack to it.

Thanks a lot for kind suggestions. I tried all sort of key combinations with settings/ registrations, 2 and 8 but none of it worked. I watched a YouTube video I can see that when they press the settings/ registrations key the display changes to different menu but my case it still ask for department id and pin. When I reboot the mfp it straight away ask for the ID and Pin. Please let me know if you have any other suggestions.

You need to press settings/registration key a 2nd time. Each of your posts say you only pressed it once.

I pressed the settings/registrations key at the end. I did exactly what you said. As I mentioned before the printer is not responding to these key combinations. Can you please tell me what you can see in the display if you press only the settings/ registrations key? My printer just ask for the department id and pin when I press this key.

Maybe the "SVMD-ENT" Value is changed ( SV Mode Level 2 option fnc sw) . Try *49* instead
