    ImageClass 2210 Check Printer message

I have replaced the fuser and the laser unit with no success. "Check printer" message stays up on the screen. Does anyone have any other ideas? Many thanks in advance.

    Check Printer Message

something to try this is from a technical bulletin Product : imageCLASS 2200 series Title : Intermittant Check Printer, Error Code ##0323, or Printer Status Code 8:04. Error :
Current leakage can occur where the DC controller contacts pass through the metal plate in the bottom of the Paper Feed Belt Assembly (FG6-1257-000).

    Workaround :
The current leakage can be resolved by replacing the Insulating Sheet which is located on the bottom of the Paper Feed Belt assembly (FB4-5644-000) or by replacing the Paper Feed Belt Assembly (FG6-1257-030).

Mosey I think has it, I have not seen one of these for a long time ,
what code were you getting with the check printer message? As I recall you have to change a setting somewhere for the machine to post the number code along with the message.

Ok. I have read the tech bulletin and removed the belt drive assy and yes there were some arching marks and the sheet was cut right through where the arcs were. I covered all the wires and metal plates with electrical tape and re-assembled with the original sheet. The "check printer" indicator comes up right away. The machine error light comes on as soon as you start the machine. I have set bitswitch 1 (far right) IN SSW0001 but get no error codes or numbers on the screen after hitting reset. Any other ideas? Thanks in advance.

          Hi BryanW

I only had two of these, and blessedly, the last time I had to work on one was a couple of years ago. If I remember correctly, you have to clear the error for the check printer message to go away. I looked in my manual, and there is a Clear All, but I think it is under the Printer section of Service Mode. I hated these, because the service mode was so cryptic. The hardware was easy enough to work on, but the "faxlike" system drove me bats. Good luck!

Good News... I replaced the DC controller, which the belt drive assy makes contact to, and that fixed the problem. I guess the arcing killed the DC controller. Thanks for all your help everyone.
