Canon IRA C5540i Controller and HDD location and compatibility

Hi guys
This is the continuing note from the previous post of The canon iRA C5440i with the blinking energy save button.
Are the Main controler and HDD the same as a 555Oi?
And where are they located on the machine?

You don't know what the hell your doing. The copiers HDD has nothing to do with the main print controller.

You can't just swap hdd from other printer
without firmware.Main controllers are different.

If the HDD was the issue you would get an E602 error.

Check the parts catalogue if the C5550 & C5440 main controller part number are the same you can swap them but I doubt it.

Buy a used HDD from Ebay from a known working machine and leave the print controller board alone.

wont work - hdd on this range are paired to individual machine so not swappable

You can fit a used one but first just need to delate all partitions in a HDD caddy then format the HDD using the SST & firmware.
