ADF Scans blurry with horizontal colored lines on c3325i

    Hi,
Our c3325i has recently developed a strange symptom only on ADF scans and copies and not at all on scans and copies from glass.

The output from ADF is blurry, dark, and full of horizontal colored lines. Image: https://imgur.com/a/1SFs3F0

I've run ADF cleaner mode several times, have cleaned ADF glass with cloth wipe approved glass cleaner.

Is there anything else I should be doing?

The machine had new drums, new transfer belt installed a couple of weeks ago. All prints are normal.

Thanks - yes the model is Canon ImageRunner c3325i - I will open it up and clean the optics. Good idea.

Try white adjustment. I had a similar problem last week and that fixed it.

Thanks - I did this just now and got OK for glass on white adjustment.

For ADF DF-WLVL2 white adjustment, I get NG! error.

          I used this function BTW
          [Service mode]
          COPIER > FUNCTION > CCD > DF-WLVL1 (copyboard)
          COPIER > FUNCTION > CCD > DF-WLVL2 (DF)

I can't find in service manual what that NG! means in this function or how to get to the specific source of that error code. Any ideas welcomed.

NG is no No Good. Is the problem only on the back side or the front?

Poor quality scan, but the lines seem to be of different colors. This could be a flat cable.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Thanks - just to make sure I understand: do you mean that the cable from ADF assembly to board needs to be replaced or just moved/re-seated?

Thanks - it's only bad on the scanned side (one side)

I think that model scans the front and back at the same time. If it's the back side that's the problem, I'd replace the scanner unit inside the feeder. If it's the front side, maybe there's something wrong with the white plate next to the glass.
