Just got this message on a IRAC255i - not sure if its needs firmware update (Cannot download on Canon UK site) or whether there is an update I can do on the control panel.

What is the message you have on the screen?

We can supply the firmware should you want to run an update.

Reads.... The versions of some optional devices are inappropriate for the current version of the main unit. The version of the main unit needs to be updated

Yes I have seen that message a few times. Usually after a board, finisher or cassette deck was swapped.

Updating the firmware / system software resolves the issue.
