[Photo] Dirty Background that Repeats at 44mm -- Canon IR-Adv C5550i

The Canon IR-Adv C5550i at our church has a two-inch dirty image along one edge of every copy. The image repeats every 44mm.

Is cleaning this up a do-it-yourself fix? Or should I have a professional technician come?

    Many thanks in advance!

    You need a technician

Looks like the charge roller cleaning roller (felt) has perished and will require replacement plus the charge roller will need to be cleaned.
Somebody may try to tell you that you need a new complete drum unit, but you can get the parts required separately, however if the drum is over life it may be worth just changing the whole unit. A good engineer will advise you correctly

Using the attached chart from the troubleshooting guide I would say it's the charge roller (44mm).
