    Canon C357iF Drum Units

I have 2 of these machines that are doing almost exactly the same thing. The end user pulled the WTB out of one and all dr/dv units came out with it. They tried putting them back in but all 4 won't lock down. They have about 4 of these machine onsite. We pulled the 4 from an actively working machine and they wouldn't lock down in the malfunctioning one. We took the 4 out of the malfunctioning machine and they locked into the 1 we pulled the new ones out of. I am not actively trained on this specific canon, and I have full access to canon's website, system software, SM/PG, etc. So asking canon is out of the question since we know they're a particular amount of s****d when it comes to helping if you're not trained on that particular series. I am trained on Canons, just not some of the newer entities. The other C357iF has 2 dr/dv units doing the same thing. We (the end user and I) held the drums in while locking the WTB down. Machine works perfectly other than that and there are no errors. Has anyone seen this, and have you found a solution? Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

    I don't quite understand what you're saying.
Whether you swap a set of machine drum components causes the machine chip to be locked. Not working?
If this is the case, because the consumable chips of the machine are all consistent, if they are locked, they can only be solved by replacing the drum chips.

I think you should re-read a bit slower next time. It has NOTHING to do with "chips", the drums will NOT lock/secure into place. I can pull the dr/dv out of the machine that is having the issue and put them into a different machine and they WILL lock/secure into place. I can take the dr/dv out of a fully functional machine (by the way same exact model) and they will NOT lock/secure into place. So as stated in the PREVIOUS post I originally made, I have 2 machines where the dr/dv units will NOT lock/secure into place. Also, NO where in my post does it say anything about "chips". Not being mean, but just suggesting you ensure you understand the post before responding. Thank you though.

Yes I have seen this, the latch at the rear with the spring brakes. But a pain to replace so I just do as you did hold the drum it while fitting WTB.

Great, thank you. I'll go through the parts manual to see what I need.

Do you know where in the parts manual this is? I've been through the entire thing, and have no clue what Canon calls it.
