Cannon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C3530i II making "adjusting" noises every half hour or so

I manage the copier at our office, we don't have a service contract. I'm hoping someone here can help. The machine consistently makes "adjusting" noises as if it is getting ready to print roughly every half hour or so even when nothing is going on and even when it is in energy saver mode. Any suggestions on how to stop this? It didn't used to happen and has only started in the last few weeks. The machine is a Canon imageRUNNER ADVANCE C3530i II
    Thanks in Advance!

This is normal, most likely doing a fuser rotation. It will do it in response to a change in the environment.

There is no way to stop it? It happens all the time and is disruptive to the office. It wasn't happening before and now seems to be happening all the time, like literally every half hour.

If it does it when in a ready state, do you see any message on the screen ?

No messages on the screen. The screen stays black as the machine is in energy saver mode.

I have been tracking it now. It happens every half hour like clockwork; on the :26 and on the :56. The light on the scanner bed turns on as if it is getting ready to scan and original and the machine does all kinds of adjustments and then it goes back to being silent for another half hour. The screen stays dark and there a no messages on the screen if I wake the screen. I have even tried unplugging the copier from the computer that it is connected to via usb and it is still happening. It is not on a network.

            Please help!

Log in as administrator and go through all the "time/energy" settings. Set the consumption to "high" and turn off the "motion sensor".
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

Thank you. I have now done that. Motion sensor was already off. I adjusted consumption to high. Restarted the machine. Still having the issue. Every half hour. Thank you in advance for your help!

You could try updating the firmware, worth a try.
