Hi all,
I am a college student trying to repair an imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4245 I bought cheap from my university's surplus for fun. I'm not certified, but I do have a copy of the service manual. The printer gave me a black screen with E748-2010. I unplugged the HDD cable from main board 2 and the error changed to E602-0001. So, I'm fairly confident that the HDD in it is dead. I've removed the HDD from the printer, but I have a few questions:
1. Is it ok to buy the same model of HDD, or are there better ones that are less likely to die available? I'm aware that there's a compatibility list somewhere, but I can't find it. (Picture of HDD below)

2. Is my understanding that I need to install new HDD, buy firmware, use SST to put firmware on USB, and flash using 2 + 8 mode correct? Is there anything special I need to do to the new HDD before installing it?
3. Is SST v5.1 able to flash firmware for IRA 4245 to a USB?
