    [Misc] comms tests

    hi guys,

we get asked to regularly perform comms tests on all our canon devices, ie. press 123, monitoring service, communications test, is there a way of setting this up so the machine will do the communications test automatically? TIA

As far as I know, that's not possible. A comms test is always required when the IP address/location is changed. It's to re-establish the connection to the e-Maintenance server.

Com-test is done once when the device is connected. Once the device is entered into maintenance, you can check the communication remotely. The device will not do this on its own.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it
