Getting Toners Out Of C55XX's Series Machines Without Power?

Hello fellow Techs, a little help please. I'm a Xerox dealer and I have a Canon C5540i that I need to get the toners out of. I can't put any power to the machine in my storage unit, and was wondering if there is a way to mechanically release the bays that hold the cartridges in place.... I need to remove the consumables from a unit that was damaged electronically and save what I can before recycling it.

Thanks in advance for any help you might provide.

Slide a thin pocket knife blade up the right side of the toner cover and when it gets to the top the cover should pop open.

Take the back cover off, you will see a black key held on by 1 screw. Use this to attach to the set on drive assy, this will manually open the front toner door and release the toner bottle

You still wont be able to pull the bottle. Do what others here said to do.
I have used Canon Imagerunner parts for sale. Most are floor model Color and / Advances Imagerunner with some 3025 3235 parts. Several intact machines being parted.

I ended up taking it to a good friend of mine who is a Canon Tech and he did two things. First, he popped off tray and cover assembly, then he did what was mentioned above by going into the back. Then he did take a slim knife and sleeved it between the door lock and assembly because taking the top cover with tray off allows you to see right down inside where the locking mechanism is.

He said, he undoes the back and turns the locking mechanism so that it will be easier to actually wedge the locking lever up front. If you don't, he said you can damage the locking mechanism.

He did it very smooth and with great precision, so I'd say that would be the best method.

Thanks everyone for your help. I sincerely appreciate everyone's comments, and I hope me putting in what we actually did to open them will help other techs as well.
