    I agree...
Cycling the machine will give you a power on jam and you should be able to talk someone onsite through getting into service mode to tell you the code over the phone yes?.

      @Oze
      ..........over the phone.

maybe but its really at my own discretion if and when i'll go there again... anyways, it'll be on my itinerary after nxt wk..... im just gathering as much info i can get here b4 i send my ar*e back there. paper jam is suppose to be an end user easy problem to solve. but i never encountered one heck of a jam error like this.

Paper jams that don't clear can be tough to solve, been there. I read thru the post but I don't see any suggestions of cutting wire ties or checking for a pinched or stripped wire. Without a code your guessing at which sensor wire to check, but I would start with the wires and wire ties that are easiest to get at. I would definately start in the door area where the machine says the jam is.

"i only resort to service handbook only when i'm really exhausted thinking."

The manual is with me at every call, always has been. Too many machines to memorize it all. The service manual is your best friend. Although I know you unfortunately don't have one for this machine.
Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Life is all about how you see it.

There's been a lot of suggestions on this thread but we have yet to get a jam code. It will be there if you power off and on and then we can give a better answer.

u know this is one of those i have overlooked when i was still in front of the machine.... i did off and on the machine but it did not register in my mind to look at the jam code.... i was tired already coz b4 i went to that machine i was also doing 5 other copiers from different department w/c is unfortunately not even one machine is the same.... can u imagine 6 copiers 4 of which have'nt been maintained for the past 6 months. cleaning them one by one is really exhausting...

but when i read every post and reply here something also entered my mind i just need to get back in there and check it again. i maybe looking at the sensor w/c the control panel is showing but its not actually that sensor is the problem... as i have said, i did switched both paper feeding unit. i agree jam code is important....

To me it sounds like nothing is getting done. There are multiple suggestions here regarding a jam code and with everything else supposedly being switched and replaced, still no jam code. Getting that code is the simplest of everything that's been done but it's the only thing that hasn't been done. I thinks it's time to stop replying to this post because it's looking a little illegitimate to me.

please re-read my post and reply, i wrote there "i will go back there in 2 wks time".... if i have fixed it already i would've posted it... its unfair to all of you if will not tell you what happen..

i'm surprised!!!! this is the reason why i got a pm from someone... bcoz of the last 2 posts, so, he sent me a pm instead....

anyways this is my reply to that pm......

u can say that again... the reason i am unable to resolve this problem that easy is its bcoz that area is in the middle of nowhere... my mobile fon doesnt work in there... the only way to comunicate there is by satellite internet which is so untimely bogged down at the time when i was still there. i cant communicate with anyone to relate this problem thru internet... the last time i spoke to the operations manager, he said "just take your time to fixed it"... you did managed to repair those other 5 copiers and its worth the wait for this one"... this is the reason im gathering as much info as i can b4 going back there in 2 wks time..

but i do need to asked u a favor... if its possible for you to send me a pdf file of jam error locations for this copier specifically paper flow of lower and upper paper feeding unit and duplexing area...

thanks for your pm and thanks in advance....

But you can understand why the other techs are getting frustrated yes Zoran?
The first thing we teach new techs is to check the jam/error logs when there's a problem.
Knowing where it's jamming doesn't always tell us WHY it's jamming.
I also understand the distance you have to cover.....the service area my company covers is a 400km range in any direction.
An average week see's out techs travel upwards of 1000kms.

yes i can understand their fraustrations.....

basically, i am formally trained on km, ricoh and konica... if i have lapses on troubleshooting with this canon its bcoz i'm just new to this brand. i'm still learning with this model... when i was in front of that machine and having my own fraustrations why i cant fixed that damn stupid paper jam all i cant think of is "your not my brand"

you see i cant give all the details about it coz i cant think anymore about it.... and the only way i can solve that problem is to get as much information in here....
