    Canon IR5235 Jam Code 0202 PS56

    Hello, everyone,
I have a Canon IR5235 here that generally causes paper jams with code 0202 and sensor PS56 with thicker paper from all cassettes.
The paper remains approximately 4mm in front of the registration roller.
All feed rollers and separation rollers in the cassettes have already been replaced. Sometimes several pages go through without problems. Am I running out of ideas for this?

Why is a stationary paper jam caused?

I have already cleaned all rollers in the paper path.

    Kind regards many thanks

In the meantime i have cleaned all sensors and removed the first and second cassette pickup unit. I have removed the cables from the whole units. In Service Menu under I/O P-Sensors DCON on P021 you can't tell a difference despite the cable being unplugged. Even when the sensors are activated, nothing changes here. Can it be a software error?

Pictures are below from I/O Menu:

From your comment: "In Service Menu under I/O P-Sensors DCON on P021 you can't tell a difference despite the cable being unplugged. Even when the sensors are activated, nothing changes here. Can it be a software error?", I suspect a fault with the sensor you named or problem from the DC Board to the Cassette Pickup Unit.

I would first replace the sensor.
Next I would check the cable connection from the DC Board to the Pickup Unit if it fails.
In the next effort after that also fails, I would replace the DC Board with a working one to see the result.

          Hello, everyone,
many thanks for the help. After changing the Cassette Feeder PCB, the values in the I/O menu are still the same as before, but the device seems to be working now. Nevertheless, I'm surprised that the values don't change when the switches are touched. Anyone got any ideas about this?
Or does anyone have the replacement number for the cable that goes to both cassette units?
          Best regards and thank you

My first question would have been is regular 20lb paper working without a problem? You can't just feed any paper weight through these drawers. There's a weight limit and I don't think you can get too close to that weight without starting to have trouble. The fact that you say you can get some pages to print tells me it sounds mechanical and not electrical.

              Hello everyone,
the strange thing is that it works with another IRC5030 machine without any problems. This also shows corresponding values in the I/O menu when the switches are touched. After changing the circuit board, some pages with normal and thick paper also run through without any problems. I'll continue to monitor the problem. Several hundred pages are to be printed out in the near future.

              Best regards and thank you

Since you can only test this with several hundred pages and correspondingly special paper, I can only test it next week. Then I can also give feedback.

                Thanks in advance

                  Jam Description in Service Menu

Looking at this jam log I can't help but notice they started to have jams with different codes day before (looks like another paper tray A4R) but it could be related. Also, I would try to swap whole paper feed assembly containing this PS56 with another from bottom tray just to see if jam stays with the tray or follows sensor.
In my experience swapping paper in the tray with different properties (going from regular to heavy and back) without telling machine you did that potentially creates print quality issues and jamming problems... Educate your client to use copier with understanding what it can and can't do.

                    Hello,

unfortunately, as expected, the error persists after we before. As suggested, I will now exchange the corresponding unit with sensors and coils. Maybe the error will move with you.

                    Best regards and many thanks

I have fitted a new fuser ass which normally resolves jams with this code in my experience.

                        Hello, everyone,
Unfortunately, the error now occurs again out of the blue. Paper jam error 0113 and sensor UN53 are currently displayed. I'm slowly running out of ideas. Can this really be caused by a defective fuser unit? The paper won't even come until then. And sometimes a few pages go through.

                        Best regards and thank you

FK2-0408-010 SOLENOID SL3 Solenoid not opening properly due to duct tape or fuser.

                            Hello, everyone,
and thank you very much. Can the defective solenoid also lead to errors when printing from cartridges 1, 3 and 4? This is where the same problem arises. The fuser has only run 160000 pages. Or should you replace both the SL3 and 2 solenoid?

                            Best regards and thank you
