i have one with 600k that will start making blank copies and the only way to correct it is to do an rcon clear, has new oem drum, transfer roller,dv unit, I know my description is a little vague but has anyone seen this before ? any thought will be appreciated, thanks in advance

I'm assuming that the blank the copies are happening when your making copies off the glass, right.This is why you are clearing Rcon? How about internal prints, like print out or test pages. If the problem is isolated at the reader unit, then check all connectors from the reader control pcb to the main controller, how is the life on the lamp, try doing a CCD adjust. I'm sure after you clearing Rcon you are reinputing the values back. Check all other pcbs in the reader unit.

Checking the ribbon or "flat" cables is always a good idea. From what you describe I would make sure the connector J312 on the DC con is good and also cut the wire ties on the bundle. If you continue to have trouble you may want to try a new DC controller.

Also..check the error log...I seem to remember having an iR3300 a while back doing the same thing and it turned out to be the DC controller.

Thanks guys it was the dc controller, tech told me he was clearing rcon, when in fact he was clearing rcon and dccon, it wasnt only making blank copies it was making black copies, and only after it went to sleep and you turned it back on if the machine stayed on all day it worked fine, thanks again
