Remove any network cables, turning it on with the door open and see what happens... try cleaning and reinstalling the ram, replace the main controller pcb

Well for that you would need to reload the firmware first.... now what?
I have used Canon Imagerunner parts for sale. Most are floor model Color and / Advances Imagerunner with some 3025 3235 parts. Several intact machines being parted.

A little update to this issue , the unit comes up but after a short while it will restart itself and then the status bar on the screen will hang about 25% and stay there.
I see two numbers in the PM.
Main controller FM4-1245-000 and DC controller FM3-5052-000.
Which one do you believe might be the issue?

Also will the unit run with the HDD disconnected as a way of eliminating that possibility?

The unit needs to have HDD connected because that's where OS is stored. The OS is loaded into the RAM to run on the Main Con. If it's crashing at around 25%, probably OS not loading(HDD failure, RAM contacts). Did you clean and reseat the RAM as mentioned? Common on older IRs with sockets for RAM. If that doesn't fix it, try formatting HDD and re-installing firmware. If still issues, replace the HDD. Being an older IR, the HDD is probably dying.Doubt if it's Main or Dcon...clean that ram good. Main Con isn't cheap...don't start there. Lvps is a remote possibility too

I agree with Canuck. I'd be thinking HDD
