Set up scan to email on a Canon C5535i

How do I set up scan to email on a Canon C5535i. I know how to do this on Konica and Kyocera models. I also know how to navigate the Canon network interface. In my experience, using the network interface is usually the best way to put in email credentials into a machine.

Also, the machine that I am replacing with this C5535i is a Canon C2880. With most Canon models I have no problem using the network interface to transfer the machine setting from one model to another. However, when I brought up the C2880 network interface, I had no idea of where to go to get to the spot to do the transfer over the internet. It is totally different. Can this be done with this older model? If it cannot be done with the network interface, are there other ways to transfer machine data from the C2880 to the C5535i?

Thanks again in advance for any help.

Don't forget if your client's using Gmail, that you need to create an application password with 2FA on, otherwise if you put the email password it won't work.

because of the restrictions and 2fa you cant seriously expect gmail to be a working or reliable solution anymore. There are better ways to authenticate for less than $100 bucks a year. There are other disadvantages with using gmail for machines too. There is no good excuse anymore!
I have used Canon Imagerunner parts for sale. Most are floor model Color and / Advances Imagerunner with some 3025 3235 parts. Several intact machines being parted.

Thank you, techandtrader, for the no help comment.

I got the customer working with a gmail account they set up. Had to set up two step verification (got to do that anytime you use gmail for a device). It works.

Many of my smaller clients are not going to spend $100 a year for scanning to email from their device. They'll just find someone else to buy the machine from.

I also heard Google will stop supporting SMTP in the next year or so.

            Hi,

You can't. C2880 is too old.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it

smtp to go is free and is better than gsmells. You see in the long run this advice is golden.
