Problem with Scan and Send on iR Adv 6555i III

    Hello there....
I have problem with Canon iR Advance 6555i III which was originally only printer. Previous user converted machine with DADF before we bought machine. Our problem is that we don't have Scan and Send function on machine. We enabled it thru Service Mode but still no button on screen. Also what we notice is that there is no Address book, so we are not sure is it related with this problem. Is there anything else which should be done to enable it. Scanner working with Network Scangear so there is not problem with data exchange between scanner and PC.
    Thanx in advance

Contact technical support, it is most likely that you have deleted the universal sending license or that you have never had the universal sending option, probably the previous user also scanned with network scangear

Try updating the system software this may not have been done when the previous owners did the conversion.

        First, thanks for answer...

Well, I did firmware update with CDS (Web update) from Service Mode. I did not understand what means option Updata Module Only so I try both without and with activated option 2 different firmwares. Nothing changed. Now I have only latest firmware for this kind of try.
I don't know what is happening when you update with CDS update. I think its not clean install of new firmware, its just overwrite with new files, correct me if I am wrong. I assume that maybe formating HDD and clean firmware will change something but I don't have firmware which will work from USB for III gen of iR Adv 6555i.
I get USB with Canon firmwares from reseller but when I put it in machine and start machine I get message Wait for USB/SST Connect Menu... Waiting for SST connection.... so I assume that firmware is not for III gen. It work with other machines, since I have few firmwares on same USB for other models.

If you have some tip, trick I would be glad.

Actually, I don't know anything about converting to MFP, adding DADF. I assume that it was done without "big knowledge" about Canon updates, Canon licenses. Something like just put the DADF and it will work the thing which maybe is correct. Since it was firstly only printer, it is obvious that there is not Scan licenses (if it is regular thing that I need licence for Scan and Send), but strange thing is that Scan and Store working. From my logic point, my first choice which could work would be clean install of firmware. I did lot updates, but never did adding licenses to converted machines.
