Canon IR Adv 6565i DADF scan problem

Canon IR Adv 6565i DADF scans first side with toning background on operator side of the machine. Second side comes out clean. Problem only occurs when running thru DADF. Copies off the glass are fine and prints from computer are fine. Tried cleaning DADF Slit glass, sensors, target glass but no change. If the DADF scanner
unit is pulled is it possible to open up for cleaning. Looking for suggestions.

Clean the DADF first, while seeing whether the roll is worn or not

toning background, operator side? so front of copier and bottom part of page?

You shouldn't need to open the scanner in the dadf as the second side is clean. They don't recommend opening them up either -you just make sure no debris is inside on the mirrors, etc. which you just remove the front panel of the dadf and pull out the slit glass then use puff air or a lint free cloth I believe.

Issue would be on the copier side but scanning on the glass is fine. Its possible the scanner isn't moving into proper position or when moving under the slit glass mucks up the ribbon cable.
Also, if it looks like this picture

you could have a roller above the slit glass out of place or you need to manually adjust the height of the dadf since too much light is getting in.

Do ccd-adj and white levels in service mode for both platen glass and df scanners for starters after cleaning their respective white plates(for shading correction). And yes, make sure df sits all the way down on the left side...ususlly need to lower left rear.

Yep looks just like your picture sent. Thanks for the tips and will go back and check and adjust if needed dadf along with the ccd adjustments .
