[Error Code] Canon ir adv c5500 series, error when switching document feeder from c5535 to c5540

    Hello,

Has anyone come across the issue of when you take a single pass document feeder from a Canon IR ADV C5535 and install it on a C5540, the copier will not accept that document feeder and give an error code? Is there some form of value setting within the service mode that needs to be adjusted for the copier to recognize the document feeder? I would think that the document feeder for the C5500 series should be interchangeable within its series as long as it's the same type of feeder.

What error code are you getting? It may be just a firmware mismatch.

      Firmware update.
It's important make sure the generation is the same; they swapped PCB boards between some of the generations.
You may just be able to change swap the board in the doc feeder -if the previous issue wasn't electrical.

Your fault is that the FLASH electronic hard drive data is damaged, resulting in an incorrect body number. It should be an error code E355-001 or E350. The error still exists when you reinstall it.

If you want to solve this problem, you need a tool to rewrite the correct machine serial number data of IRC5540, otherwise you cannot repair the machine, causing damage to two machines.
