Hi there...hoping someone can help. My printer one day decided to pooch the main controller board. There were no errors...just network wouldn't work...wouldn't print from usb...wouldn't copy would still boot and allow access to all screens. Canon tech said the Main controller board. so I ordered a replacement , exact same code as on original board FM4-0793. I initially tried to swap the two boards without changing anything...when booting with new board. Error E000355-004. I talked to a technician who said I need to swap the two removable modules from the old board and put them on the new board. I did that, still getting the same error. I have tried clearing the error level 3 service mode clear E355. No luck. It does try to boot but gets about half way then errors. Canon tech keeps trying to convince me to upgrade but I can't afford it and this machine was running great. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks

Re: Canon IR Advanced C5045
Your issue is due to FLASH hard disk data rewriting the counter chip board, and secondly, the chip body number data of AT88SC0808 with the body number does not match the FLASH data, resulting in E355 code.
Solution:
1. Install the old FLASH electronic hard drive back
2. Install the old body number data board back
3. Enter factory mode (perform E355 initialization)

Re: Canon IR Advanced C5045
Thanks and I understand. So here is an update on what I've done. There must be some place where the error remains stored. I have put the original TPM Module and the Flash module back in the original board. It boots...I go into service mode and clear the following. ERR, Err-list...level 3 E355 clear. Shutdown. Then I transfer the modules to the new board and install it. The printer begins to boot and gets to the desktop screen with the copy icon...then the error happens again. If I reboot it errors pretty quick without getting to the desktop screen. I am assuming because the errors are now fresh in memory. I try to clear the errors on the new board but same result.
Any help is appreciated, I must be missing something.Comment

For some reason I have it my head that you're suppose to swap another board but I could be overthinking it.Comment

Re: Canon IR Advanced C5045
Does the device come to ready if you fit ALL the original boards back to the machine ? If so try updating the system software, this may resolve the original issue.Let us eat, drink, and be merry, because tomorrow we may die!

A Firmware update was done to both boards. didn't make a difference. Thank you though for your suggestion.Comment

Re: Canon IR Advanced C5045
I should add...My whole reason for replacing the PCB 1 board was I wasn't able to connect to the network. The ethernet port immediately yellow lights my router as soon as you turn on the printer. Tried everything to remedy that. Had the Canon tech come in and he said in his time of doing repair, he'd only seen an issue like this one other time. He figured it was the board and so the reason for replacement. It just shouldn't be this hard...haha! If the the modules are back on the original board, the printer boots up no problem. But now way to print from a device. I can copy...so that section is working fine. I work in IT and if I ran up against this issue with a PC, sometimes removing the batter on the motherboard would reset the bios and solve the glitch. The battery on the PCB 1 board is soldered...and I'm not sure that would help anyway.Comment
