Can i remove timestamp from scan to network

When I scan to a network folder using a Canon 3170Ci, 3180Ci or 6870Ci, I supply the filename that I want, but a timestamp is always added to the filename.
Eg. I scan a document and choose a filename of "document". The file gets scanned to the network folder and is given the filename "document_20090528115803".

Is there any way to prevent this timestamp from being stuck on the end of the filename? I want the scanned filename to be exactly the same as what I type into the Canon device.
These are scanned as pdf documents.

has been asked before and the answer then was no- canon belive you will name an exisiting file with the same file name so it is to stop you overwriting it.

      Thanks for the reply.

      Hmmm, that's not good news.
I did use search to look for anything on this before I posted, but I couldn't find it.
