Canon iR & iRC series HDD

HI all and good days ,

Myself facing huge and nasty problem about Canon iR Series, Once E602-XXXXX then it's time for big headache , wondering of getting old low capacity HDD for cheap but it only runs for 2 weeks then death again, getting a new one brought more headache on setting up such as formatting and other inserting stuff....

I have found a device that cleared all my headache once and for all...A HDD Cloning devices that is so easy to use with full of features other then cloning... Just plug in , select what task you wanna do , press start!!! All done...

All iR and iRC series HDD issues is now at my fingertips....

mail me for more detail : calvin5522@gmail.com

    Thanks

One of the problems with HDD cloning is that sometimes you can format a drive using SST to fix a problem, but if you clone onto a drive that you can't use with SST you have to remove the hdd and either replace it or use a cloning machine again on it and hope it's fixed.

If you are going to clone it's best to use a hard drive that you can format using SST as well.

      Bro bnmand

nowaday it`s hard to to get a HDD that is supported by SST ( i mean just buy without concern by any brand or any capacities ) so for me i guess using this way safe up my time searching for compatible HDD and stop wasting money buying non-compartible HDD

have a nice pleasent day bro bnmand

What happen if HDD model not support by SST ? Some have success to boot up machine with a CF card. Definately SST don't built to support CF card. (Or the firmware don't) Try playing a 5 fields 32 bytes data.

Then when you get E602 you can't try using SST to try and fix the problem temporarily.

hi all again , i do understand to set up using the original way like SST to fixed a HDD e602-XXXX issue temporary but one thing i have tried....the cloning machine that i'm using is not like those ghosting stuff... just choose duplicating/diskcopy. What i do now is easy .... i diskcopy a NEW HDD or few to keep, once i get a e602... with no time wasting i just change the new one and THAT'S IT... easy right? now in my office i have 5 spare NEW HDD ready for replacement....i sleep well...

that's the way of keeping me my time for other machine problems...

As an network printer associated tech we should have good knowledge the of the things we do. Knows you hard disk very well, (what is cylinder, sector, boot sector, bad sector,LBA,UDMA,PIO,FAT32,partitions,etc), a good hard disk ultilities tools that able to analyze hard disk, backup or restore. Get very sure how to use these software properly. Have a SST for canon tech. I never use SST or cloning machine for the pass few years and yet keep out of the HDD related problem away until today. Follow some simple rule, when I think the machine have a HDD related problem, I will analyze for its stabilities ,bad sector, etc. Once failure confirmed, replace another HDD with a working image restored. The new HDD for machine needs to be analized also. ( A lot of unnecessary trouble will be avoid if you handle this properly.)
                2. Keep as many HDD image as possible.(you may need to try out which one for which?) This is very difficult at beginning because it is large file of xxGB. Then break down the size by understanding its structure. It come to 80M - 200M per image for IR3300. Now I keep less then 10 image for this model. So far so good. I wish my message will benifit those have no SST or proper firmware program. Please read my earlier post, your positive advice is encouraged. Don't challenge me because I am a 1 week old baby of using both SST and Copytechnet.

Without learning the SST you can never really understand how the HDD works. As for cloning it is a bother and vey limiting. You cannot upgrade software or networking or a multitude of other things that can be done.
And as for using non canon hdd'S because you do not know the sst you are stuck. I can use the sst and use any hdd its just an easy modification of an ift file. SO good luck with the cloning and having functionality loss because of outmoded firmware.

Thanks for your advice. It is not that I don't want to use SST. I am in a place where no way to get SST and firmware. No body tell me what to do but have to scrach out something to put machine to work. Just a week ago I find ir2200.rar and SST post by somebody. And try to put it to empty HDD. (This model is not in the list) After many stragle, the machine can copy, can scan, but cannot print because ir2200n system being pulled. I think a baby like me can do this should be ok. would you mind help me or give assistance in the future ?Yes I do insert a CF mem model to ift, making the machine to run on a CD mem. Althought some smart man may laught at me. But this is a babies' lesson. Please advice.

If it can't print then it doesn't have PS/PCL. If you look under Copier > Display > Version > PS/PCL you'll see --_-- This is included in the ir2200n software. So get that and install it using SST on a hdd that works with SST and you should be able to clone that for ir2200n, 2800n and 3300n copiers (if that's what you want to do).

The machine prints properly after down load 2200N system.
You have done many many many good job.

That's hardly surprising is not freely available on the net. Canon only distributes it to technicians they authorize.
