how do i move the trays?????!!!!

so the trays on the side of my copying machine, you know where the finished copies land? well, it's been moved above the point where the copies spurt out of and i can't get it to move back down. HOW DO I DO THIS? any help is greatly appreciated!! thank you so much! i just can't figure it out!

i did try that...it seems that they have to be moved manually. there are tracks that run up the copy machine, and the tray hooks on to a track when moved. it seems that i can only move them up not down; as if the hooks won't let go. does that make sense?

thank you for your help! this is so frustrating and i'm really grateful for your suggestions

First of all, what machine and what finisher are you having a problem with?

it doesn't say limited functions mode, but it does say that the finisher can't be used.

You've had some kind of an error on the finisher only allowing partial functioning of the MFP.
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

ok, you need to press "additional functions"-"common settings"-"limited functions"-turn this "off"-properly reboot the copier. the trays should find home position now.

Go to additional function, common settings, look for functions limited mode, turn it off and reboot. Chances are you got a E540-. Check the flag arm sensors they sometimes break and the tray are seeing blind right now, if they don't detect home position the machine will error out.

the left side of this picture, the trays, that's what i'm having trouble moving...i thought maybe a picture would help me make more sense.

and blackcat, i know there's an error, how would i fix it?

all of that was in caps, by the way. i don't know how the lowercase took over.

glad to hear it worked! suggestion-many times this situation is caused by having recycle boxes under the trays-may not be applicable in this case.
Usually the finisher has very little trouble otherwise!
