    iRC2880 color registration issue

Don't know if anyone else has seen this issue...
magenta color registration was out in the crossfeed or subscanning direction....tested with a new itb....new magenta drum and was about to replace the laser unit when I found 4 techbase articles mentioning the issue.
Now...I did a DC clear(which actually made things worse) and one of these articles mentioned doing a Level 2 IMG_REG clear in service mode to avoid the need for doing a dc clear.
In my case it turned out to be the shutter stuck open on one of the ATR sensors but I thought I'd mention it hear as there's absolutely no help at all in the service manual regarding registration issues.
Also there's nothing on the US Canon knowledge base either...I checked.
All my info was only on the Aussie Canon database.
Also..my apologies if I've gone quiet on the help front...my wife is gravely ill in hospital with pneumonia and complications arising from that...I'm at home looking after my 3 year old daughter.

    What's up Oze,
First thing first, I don't know you personally and I'm sorry to hear about your situation, I too have a wife and a 1 year old son. I can't imagine what your going thru, but I would not know what to do without my wife.
I will however pray for your wife, you and your daughter. I pray that the lord would touch your wife for he is the healer of all healers, I pray that the lord gives you strength in this trial and tribulation. Believe in god and his will for your life and don't give up on faith and hope for this is all us men have. I mean no disrespect to you, but as a christian I feel I must spread this hope.

I have more documention on color displacement but I might need to email you. I know in the past I've done so but I don't remember your email.

      Thanks Screwy...
My wife IS a Christian...perhaps not the most devout but she does believe so I thank you for your prayers.
Just had some bad news from the Hospital and whilst she hasn't yet taken a turn for the worse...she's not responding to treatment and may have to be moved to the ICU.
      I'll pm my home email.

        Hi, Oze,

You and your family will be in my prayers, as well.

Prayer is a very powerful and wonderful thing!

                For future reference.

This problem can be resolved by clearing out the Registration Data stored in the DC Controller. To clear the data, perform the following.

Enter Service Mode: Level 2 > Copier > Function > Clear > Reg/Clear. Highlight Reg/Clear and press OK.
After performing the clear, reboot the machine and perform a Gradation Quick Adjust and then a Full Gradation adjust.

Following the instructions above could prevent you from having to perform a DC-CON clear, and inputting all DC-CON values from the door label.

Hi Oze, I know what its like to have a wife in poor health. More of a long term thing with us that doesn't improve we just hope for a good day here and there. But my prayers are with you and your family.
Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Life is all about how you see it.

Thanks for all the kind words and prayers guys....
She took a turn for the worse and was moved into the ICU2 days ago.
When I went to visit her the first day she was in the ICU I came away a wreck...I was sure that was the last time I'd see her alive but I went to see her last night and was actually able to have a good conversation with her...she was more alert and actually being a smartass to the nursing staff(which is her natural state).
So hopefully this is a sign that she's on the mend

We were told today that she has tested positive to the Swine Flu...it attacked her lungs and caused the pneumonia that has laid her up.
I had all the kids and myself tested and the doctors feel that we're in the clear.
