    Canon IR-8500 Various Problems

    Dear fellow tech,

I have several problem that I would like to consult with this copier.

1.- This machine is giving me error code E015-0000. I know is the pickup motor, but it is giving it in all cassettes. The 2 letters drawers, legal drawer and third drawer.

    What can it be?

2.- I have another copier like this one that the LCD display was working OK, now I connect the copier it turns on, but the display is not coming on, I know this is working OK because a swapped it with the other copier.

    What can it be?

Thxs, and I'll wait for your prompt response.

        Xcopytech,

Thxs alot problem solve. Now what about the display problem of the other Canon IR-8500 that I mention. It was working one day and suddenly it didn't turn on the next day. I tried the display with another copier and it works perfect.

        What can it be?

        Thxs,

hi,i once had a dead IR5000 and it ended up being the hard drive pulling down the whole system, take the power lead out and if you can hear it warm up its the hard drive.it might help.

for the pick up problem, check if the belt on pickup motor has fallen off or out of place.
a machine is only as good as your tech : source:screwtape ; the scary one

The "No power"issue is the piezo motors on the drum cleaning assembly.
If you look at it you'll see that one/both the yellow wires have shorted.
Just replace both motors OR the complete cleaning assembly...blade and all.

Oze, I think you're thinking of the 105. The 8500 doesn't use the blade vibration motors. If the screen is blank and the green light is on does the machine turn on(fans and motors?). if so there is no power getting to the panel, power supply or PS relay. If the fans and motors don't start but the green light is on try a new all day power supply.
Is the glass half full or half empty? I say neither. The glass is obviously full, full of potential. The potential to hold more water or the potential to quench a thirst. Life is all about how you see it.

                      IR-8500

                      Hello,
Is the code E000222-0000 relate to Power Supply?
The panel is on, Fuser is OK, I can reset and run 50+ copies again
Exposure Lamp looks good as well
                      Thanks

Hi SF, You should probably start your own thread, it would get more attention. But the 222 code is the exposure lamp heater. It normally wouldn't start if the lamp is not up to temperature. If you go into service mode and look at the lamp temp it should reach 70 degrees. This is off the top of my head but I think it is Copier>display>analog. Start there and see if the temp is coming up. If not a new heater might be in order.
